Revised Form I-9 to be Published July 17th

Every employer who recruits, refers for a fee, or hires an individual for employment in the U.S. must complete Form I-9. But to do so properly, you must use the correct version, complete the form accurately, and comply with recordkeeping obligations. Where to start? Today USCIS will release a revised version of Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. Employers will be able to use this revised version now or continue using Form I-9 with a revision date of 11/14/16 N through September 17.
On September 18, 2017, employers MUST use the revised form with a revision date of 07/17/17 N. Employers must also continue following existing storage and retention rules for any previously completed Form I-9.
