Premium Processing Restart, Details Developing

During yesterday’s call with the USCIS’ Ombudsman’s Office, there were hints regarding the restart of the premium processing service.  Discussions suggested upcoming plans to resume premium processing for H-1B visa petitions, but only on an incremental basis.

Fred Troncone, a senior advisor for employment affairs at the CIS Ombudsman's Office, confirmed discussions that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services may resume premium processing in phases and for specific industries.  No further specifics were provided, leaving room for speculation.  Likely beneficiaries of the incremental rollout may include those in the higher education and healthcare industries.
