Ellis Porter is partnering with TechTown, Global Detroit and Innovation Warriors at Wayne State University to engage in a conversation about the current state of immigration policy in America and where we’re headed. The workshop will be held at TechTown on Thursday, March 9 from 5:30pm - 8pm.
A Timely Immigration Conversation
Ellis Porter’s principal attorneys Marc Topoleski and Shaju Jacob will discuss the new immigration-related Executive Orders and answer questions about how these Executive Orders impact Detroit’s start-up and small business community.
Marc and Shaju will also talk about what the future holds for two recent positive immigration developments for foreign national workers: the new Job Portability regulations, which went into effect in January, and the Entrepreneurial Parole Program, which is scheduled to become effective in July. And they will share their insights about H-1B visa issues, including the H-1B cap. This workshop will provide valuable information and guidance to help all entrepreneurs, small business owners and business professionals, regardless of where in the world they are from.
... And International Food!
Ellis Porter is also happy to be sponsoring some international food and dessert for the event. A light supper will be provided by La Posada, an immigrant-owned Mexican restaurant located in Southwest Detroit. An Algerian dessert will be provided by Warda Patisserie.
So, please join us for an evening of immigration conversation and international flavors of Detroit!
