Andy is a Senior Attorney and Director on our High-Skilled Immigration practice team working with clients from a variety of research, healthcare, academic and business fields who are seeking visas and green cards in the EB-1A Extraordinary Ability, EB-1B Outstanding Professor/Researcher, EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) and O-1 Extraordinary Ability immigration categories.
Andy has focused his practice on challenging and unusual cases, and his strong communication skills allow him to truly understand each client's unique professional achievements so that he can develop a personalized legal strategy for each case. Andy has also successfully responded to hundreds of Requests for Evidence (RFEs), is experienced in appealing decisions to the Administrative Appeals Office (AAO), and has helped numerous clients obtain approvals even after a past denial.
Before joining Ellis Porter, Andy worked as an Attorney in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the high-skilled immigration field and played a key role in managing the legal strategies for thousands of EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-2 NIW and O-1 cases.
In the course of managing this high volume of applications, Andy soon realized that personally-customized EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-2 NIW and O-1 strategies consistently get better results than using a one-size-fits-all template approach, and this inspired him to co-found Immigration Advocates, PLLC with John Goslow and David Allen. The firm's mission was to enhance each client's experience and improve case outcomes by focusing more on truly understanding their unique professional achievements, and then developing personally-customized case strategies that highlight those achievements in the most compelling way.
Ellis Porter very much shared this philosophy in serving our high-skilled clients, so it made perfect sense for Andy and his attorney colleagues to join forces with Ellis Porter in January 2018 to create our High-Skilled Immigration Services team.
In his spare time, Andy loves to go backpacking and camping, and to see new parts of the world. When traveling, Andy is always eager to learn about the people and places he visits. He also enjoy cooking, reading, and history podcasts.
